Electronic Recycling
R2v3 certified electronics recycling for businesses across Michigan. We handle the entire process — from pickup to processing to compliance documentation — so you can retire IT equipment responsibly and stay audit-ready.
Responsible recycling protects more than the environment.
Electronic waste is the fastest-growing waste stream in the world. It contains hazardous materials — lead, mercury, cadmium, and brominated flame retardants — that contaminate soil and groundwater when improperly disposed of. But it also contains valuable recoverable materials: gold, silver, copper, palladium, and rare earth elements that can be returned to the supply chain.
As an R2v3 certified facility, we ensure every device is processed responsibly through certified downstream channels. We do not export e-waste to developing countries, and we do not send equipment to unregulated scrap operations. You receive full documentation for your environmental compliance records and audits.
Regulatory Compliance
Meet federal, state, and local e-waste disposal regulations with full documentation. We provide recycling certificates for every pickup.
Landfill Diversion
We are committed to keeping electronics out of landfills through responsible downstream processing and certified material recovery channels.
Environmental Impact
Reduce your carbon footprint and support the circular economy. Recoverable materials like copper, gold, and rare earth elements are properly extracted.

Where does your e-waste actually go?
Many electronics recyclers collect equipment locally but then export it — either as shredded scrap metal to overseas smelters or as whole devices to international commodity markets. In both cases, the environmental and data security outcomes are uncertain once materials leave U.S. jurisdiction.
At eLake, all processing happens at our R2v3 certified facility in Livonia, Michigan. Here's what happens to your equipment:
Intake & Inventory
Every item is logged, photographed, and assigned a tracking number. You receive a complete asset inventory.
Data Sanitization
All data-bearing devices are sanitized following NIST 800-88 guidelines before any materials processing begins.
Disassembly & Sorting
Equipment is disassembled and materials are sorted: metals, plastics, circuit boards, batteries, and hazardous components are each routed to certified processors.
Certified Downstream Processing
Sorted materials go to R2-certified downstream vendors. We maintain documented relationships with every processor in our chain of custody.
Documentation
You receive recycling certificates, data destruction documentation, and a full chain-of-custody report for your compliance records.
